"I see." It's still an introduction that stood out to Ky, given the mention, but he doesn't press the matter any further. There's really no reason to, and he's not the type to pry for a relative stranger's details without a purpose.
"I apologize if it was an inappropriate question," he says. "But I do thank you for taking the time to speak with me."
"It's fine." Their hand waves through the air dismissively. "People sometimes ask questions about it, so I like to take initiative." And it usually has a lot more explaining added to it, but, regardless.
"Anyway, you don't have to thank me. Isn't it normal to speak with people in the same situation? We're both obviously not from around here."
